This gives a therapist the credentials to provide therapy services to individuals, couples, and families. This requires completing a master's degree in counseling, accruing supervised clinical experience, and passing the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). In Florida, this gives me authorization to assess, diagnose, and treat various mental health issues within their scope of practice.

Since I am an attachment therapist, it was important to me to train as extensively as possible in my specialty, which is why I choose to pursue an additional licensure that is specific to working with families and couples. This required additional clinical hours with a specialty supervisor and to pass the National Examination in Marital and Family Therapy (NCE). I also achieved a certificate in marriage and family therapy as part of my graduate school program.

I received an Masters of Arts for my rehabilitation and mental health counseling degree that I received from the University of South Florida (USF). This allowed me to pursue the licensure necessary so that I could provide therapy services.

I received an Masters of Science for my Biomedical Science masters degree that I pursued at the University of South Florida (USF). This degree complements my background in neuroscience research.
